Moped cars to undergo technical inspection starting 1 July

After the first inspection, moped cars up to ten years old must be inspected every two years, and older vehicles every year. When a moped car is first registered, it must undergo an inspection after four years.

The obligation to carry out a L6e technical inspections is necessary in order to improve the technical conditions of moped cars and to ensure that they are in good condition and safe for the environment and traffic. There are more than 2200 L6 vehicles, known as moped cars, registered in Estonia whose owners will be affected by the change.

During the technical inspection of moped vehicles, the vehicle registration data, parts, equipment, assemblies and fittings are checked as a mandatory requirement.

In addition, a change will be made in the vehicle background check in the e-service of the Transport Administration for moped cars, where the validity of the technical inspection will be displayed and a subsection for technical inspection data will be added.
